Carriage Houses of Johnson County is a beautiful garage condominium facility located on the east side of DeSoto, Kansas. Developed by four retired Air Force veteran fighter pilots who had a vision to create a unique and fun community of people that wanted a place of their own to enjoy and use for various hobbies, work spaces, vehicles, and activities.
Work began in 2008. The first building of 22 garages opened, and new owners took possession in August of 2011. Today the facility spans a large campus with 12 buildings housing over 220 garages across more than 12 acres.
The facility features recreational amenities including an American Bandstand-style stage, a pickleball court, a basketball goal, and beautifully landscaped areas for gathering.
Annual events include The People's Choice Show (currently in its 8th year) and a popular BBQ competition that bring the community together.
